MY GRANDAD

My grandad moved on from this life yesterday, but I am not doing this so people will feel sorry for me. I want to take this chance to write down the things that I remember and love about MY GRANDAD. Probably one of my biggest memories is that he was always ready to trade you what you had in your pocket for what he had in his. He would even love it if it worked out in his favor. He is part of the reason the smell of coffee brings happy memories to me. It comes from the many very anticipated sleepovers that I would get each summer as a child. I would love to sit out on his driveway in the evening so we could talk to the neighbors that would walk by. He was one of the best ticklers that I ever knew. I have very vivid memories finding him cactus for his cactus garden. It was always fun to bird watch with him even if it was just from the kitchen table into the backyard. There were so many different kinds of birds to see. I will always love and miss my Grandad but now I KNOW that he knows how much he means to me:)

amber! i'm sorry! are you doing ok!

Grandpas are the best. Its funny how smells remind you of things. Greg came home the other day and smelt like exhaust. He tried to kiss me and I was like, "No, that's like kissing my grandpa!" (he was offended) but it was cause my grandpa always smells like exhust. He used to own a gas station and haul gas. That smell just reminds me of him.

Ya, I love my Grandpa too. He always has the funniest jokes and the biggest hugs for me. I love this post, Amber. Makes me appreciate mortality and just how much my loved ones mean to me.

I am sorry to hear of his passing. My Papa Frank meant the world to me. He used to try to pull my finger nails off. Which hurt, but for some reason is a fond memory. I am glad you shared your memories.
I wish you well.
