Normy will be Normy

So we just had a funny moment with Normy and since it has been so long since my last post I thought this is what I could tell you about. We sat down for dinner and we had some yummy baked ziti (thank you Britney) and Normy chose peas to have for his veggie. Not a surprise he loves peas and eats them quite often that is why what happened next WAS a surprise. Eric and I are sitting on either side of him and don't notice anything until he starts to sniff and giggle a little to himself, then he says to us "how do I get it out of there". With the great parenting going on neither one of us new what had happened so I asked "what's in there". He answered "with one of my peas" in between sniffs and giggles. Luckily we were able to stop the sniffing soon enough that he could still blow it out. Eric and I have been laughing about it all night:) HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!!!!

Moving Matty down, but check out this cute kid:)

The holidays have not even really gotten crazy for us yet but it has been hard for me to sit down and do this. Even though I have something super fun to blog about. Parker turned FIVE he has been talking about turning five since his third birthday. He would spin himself around and tell people to watch him to see how fast he could TURN five, and now it has finally come!

Yes you are counting 26 cute little heads in this picture (thanks to Annie risking her life to get this picture) it was the greatest party ever:) Parker loved it and loved having everyone there to wish him happy birthday! I had asked Parker who he wanted to invite to his birthday party and since he had not had one before he wanted to invite everyone he could think of. And since I had never given him a birthday party before I thought it was a great idea. It was fun and furious the whole time I planned a half dozen activities and each on lasted about 5 min including explaining the rules and then it was pure CRAZINESS and running around until we could get them settled for the next activity. I would not have had it any other way I am glad Parker loves to have his friends around him, and that I will do when there are no friends to be found.
+ you buddy:) +MOM

I just wanted to do something fun:)

So I have been craving cookie dough for a long long time, but have had a hard time justifying making cookie dough just to eat it. Well yesterday I thought what the heck we are going to do it today! Well I got the boys up to the counter and we all took turns adding ingredients (even the eggs). It was great everyone loved it and believe it or not there was not a huge mess by the time all the stuff was mixing. The time came for the best part to lick the beaters. We gave them to the boys and they loved it. SEE

So after the beaters we moved to spoons. Apparently not a good move for my children. I think Parker may have had two spoonfuls when he climbed off his chair with a little bit of a sick look on his face. Things did not go as well with Normy. He had one spoonful and before that was gone he had to climb off his chair and "choke" in the toilet. The "choke" comes from Parker having his sensitive gag reflex so when Parker chokes he pukes so Normy knowing what to do when he fells a "choke" coming on we owe to Parker puking so much. At least that good has come from dealing with so much puke:)

MY GRANDAD

My grandad moved on from this life yesterday, but I am not doing this so people will feel sorry for me. I want to take this chance to write down the things that I remember and love about MY GRANDAD. Probably one of my biggest memories is that he was always ready to trade you what you had in your pocket for what he had in his. He would even love it if it worked out in his favor. He is part of the reason the smell of coffee brings happy memories to me. It comes from the many very anticipated sleepovers that I would get each summer as a child. I would love to sit out on his driveway in the evening so we could talk to the neighbors that would walk by. He was one of the best ticklers that I ever knew. I have very vivid memories finding him cactus for his cactus garden. It was always fun to bird watch with him even if it was just from the kitchen table into the backyard. There were so many different kinds of birds to see. I will always love and miss my Grandad but now I KNOW that he knows how much he means to me:)

This is why I + my Normy

The other night we were having dinner (this dinner was a pretty good dinner for the Morrill family it consisted of all the major food groups)and Parker was doing his usual complaining about not liking any of the food. Parker has never been a good eater:( Normy will try anything and usually like it. This night was no different except for he tried it and then said everything in this dinner is BA-LICIOUS. I really needed something like that it made me smile all the way through:) Sorry about no picture for a while, but I lost my camera, have found it again so stand by!

I really do + my Normy.......but

I need an outlet and I figure this is better then the alternative:) It all starts with everyone playing downstairs and I needed to go through some things so I was downstairs with everyone and labeling the bins I had just gone through. I had just barely marked one bin and was ready to mark an other when I could not find my SHARPIE. Previous experiences have shown me this is not a good thing so I start to look for my marker, and I notice Normy is missing. As I am walking upstairs to find my precious Normy I notice that the walls have been tagged. Now I am upset because we have talked about this and he knows it is not right, but think this is not tooooo bad I could clean it up pretty fast, but as I am walking to his bedroom I notice it in the hall way both sides. Madder but still thinking we will make it through. I do find Normy in his room coloring on paper, but I do take the marker from him and tell him they are mommy's markers and not for him to use. Thinking he has learned his lesson I go to get the magic eraser in the back of my house above my washing machine and then I see it my half wall railing covered in blue sharpie. LOST IT! Luckily I had already talked to Normy so I didn't feel the need to go back and talk to him or who knows where I would be righting this post from. While I am cleaning up Normy is begging for a drink. The dishes in the dish washer are clean and I tell him to get a cup out of there and get his own drink. Not to long after I have told Normy to get his own drink he comes to me with the lid to a water bottle and you can tell he doesn't want to talk to me because I am so stinking mad. Finally Normy tells me that his water bottle is stuck and I am thinking in the dish washer so I tell him to figure out something else to drink out of, but where the water bottle was really stuck was in the fridge over flowing with water. Once again we have been through this before so Normy gets some towels and cleans up the mess. So back to the marker three magic erasers and a bottle of Clorox wipes later I pretty much have the marker cleaned up, so I decide to go back to labeling my bins. I get downstairs just in time to see Normy drop his pants to potty on the basement floor. DOES HE EVER LISTEN TO ANYTHING. We have gone through this before pee goes in the potty. For this last instance luckily Eric was home and could deal with it because I had nothing left. I hope if anything you can get a laugh out of this and appreciate how non Normy your child is:) I do LOVE my Normy and would not change him for the world I just wish I understood where some of this is coming from.

This is next Wednesday!!!!

.Larsen Family Fundraiser.
Most of you know Daryl and Ashley Larsen. For those of you who don't, they are a young couple here in Perry, who just lost their baby to a rare lung disorder. Their loss is truly a tragedy. They are now experiencing the beginnings of what will be a land slide of medical bills. In an effort to aide them, there will be a one day fundraiser at the Maddox Steak House. On November 5, you can call Maddox at 723-2916 and order the Turkey Steak dinner. You can choose the 2 or 4 family meal at the regular price. All proceeds will then be donated to the Larsen family. You do need to remember to mention the Larsen family name when ordering. You can then pick up your meal at the take out window in the back of Maddox. It will be for lunch and dinner. Please spread the word.Feel free to copy and paste this post on your blog.+amber

I + this time of year!

Ok Ok to everyone who loves me and wants to know what we have been up to!!!! I finally will create blog post #2. First things first just incase anyone cares I did take care of my citation on day 10 (the last day that I could). I love this time of year you can go play outside in crapy weather and the kids + it. But if you don't want to be outside you can work with the harvist inside. This year I went from doing no bottling to 36 quarts of peaches, 96 pints of salsa, and 55 quarts of grape juice. Needless to say we will be enjoying the harvest all through the year!

Anyway back to the kids playing outside in the crapy weather and loving it we (me and the boys)
went to Black Island Farms with Laurie and the girls. It was so great they have play grounds made out of huge hay bells and this big black tub slide that they sent the kids down in onion bags:) Of coarse Normy had to be the first one to take a ride down the slide, but after he did it and survived Parker tried it and loved it too.Of coarse Normy had to be the first one to take a ride down the slide, but after he did it and survived Parker tried it and loved it too.

That is Normy's full on natural reaction to the fun and of coarse I had to get Parker to pretend he just came down the slide. After that super fun slide we went on this thing they called the cow train .

Then we took a tractor ride to the pumkin patch to
pick out any pumpkin you would like.
If you can't tell it was really cold but I didn't hear one word about it!!!
For anyone that is interested and made it this far in the blog I am putting a Terry's Village Order together and would love anyone to perticipate that would like too. You can go to terrysvillage.com and with this order pay 30% less then the price you see. I need to know what you want by November 3, or I will not have time to place the order and get the deal!

I made a new friend today:)

This story starts yesterday....I went to go by some tomatoes to make some salsa, and I had hurd that Pettingills (hala) had the best tomatoes. Well they didn't have the tomatoes I was looking for but they had the most beautiful bell peppers and I didn't buy any because I was hoping that my plants at home would keep up with the demand. I did have enough to do yesterday's batch but not today's, so this morning after Parker went to school Normy and I went to go get the beautiful bell peppers at Pettingills. I ended up running a few more errands but we did get the bell peppers and we were headed back to get Parker from school (with plenty of time I might add), and we were going through Willard, and I got caught going 58 in a 45. I was really trying to pay attention to the speed I was going because I was not in a hurry we had PLENTY of time to get back to get Parker, but I wasn't doing as good of a job as I thought I was. My first pullover in the NASVAN! Officer Phil walks up and asks for my licence, registration, and proof of insurance. I had two of the three my proof of insurance card was getting in my way every time I walked out to get into the NASVAN but it has yet to make it into the NASVAN. He was a very nice officer and I had it all under control until he let me off with a warning and then I lost it. Let's remember that I do have extra hormones but I don't know what came over me. Normy was sitting in the front seat with the airbag off but I guess it is state law that kids can not sit in the front seat so he told me Normy had to sit in the back and then he saw where the cat scratched me last night and asked me about the scratches. When I told him that they were from my cat he acted like he did not believe me and said they looked like something else. I am so naive that I don't even know what he was tiring to imply. After all that we still had PLENTY of time to make it back and get Parker from school, but I have yet to make my salsa:)
